    It didn’t for me.

I do pretty well and have never been asked for my degree or grades.

It matters if you are looking to go to a decent grad school.

It depends on what major you have and what kind of job you’re applying for. If you have a degree in the sciences or engineering, and you apply for a job in science or engineering, your GPA matters quite a bit. But if you apply for a job you just need a generic college degree for, the GPA doesn’t matter as much. Although involvement in activities rarely matters at all. Work and internship experiences help.

I’ve been out of college for 9 years now and a prospective employer has never ever asked to see my transcript or inquired about my GPA. Having internships, related work experience, community service, and being involved in professional trade organizations is far more important in my opinion. So, no, i don’t think it really matters all that much EXCEPT if you’re apply for grad school. Then it matters.

It very much affects how easy/hard it will be to find your first job. After that, it doesn’t matter a bit.
