Financial Aid

My parents will be contributing somewhat to by Law school tuition, they have agreed to pay about ,000 a year. The rest is up to me. I am working part time right now while earning my BA, so i won’t have much at all saved up…not nearly enough for the rest of tuition. Can I still be eliglibe for financial aid even though my parents make over 200,000 a year?

You and your parents will be able to take out certain types of student loans, but there aren’t many grants and scholarships available for law school studies in the first place, and those that are available would likely not be for you due to your income. However, if your academics are on the high side of the ranges for the school, they may give you some merit aid, although there is no guarantee of that.

Most people fund their law school entirely via loans. You’ll likely do the same.

Apply for help early and often. You would not believe how much scholarship money is wasted every year as a result of people just not applying for money.
