In our current political climate, it seems we have a lot of split personalities who want to shut the mouths of people who's opinions differ from theirs. It takes intelligent and dignified people to accept opposing viewpoints without getting upset and making impulsive retorts (and even they succumb to it occasionally). I do agree though that a lot of leftists in this country throw the race card out as a matter of course since it allows them to deflect any criticism and shut down honest debate. Some conservatives also do the same thing with the liberal/socialist/commie card. I used to get mad but when I was in the College Republicans, I quickly learned that I could make my Young Democrat counterparts come unglued by calmly talking and ignoring their outbursts.
