Calculate Your Gpa

I know that some colleges recalculate GPAs based on the more essential classes, but I don’t know how Stanford specifically calculates GPA. For instance, do they count freshmen year etc.?

  1. Bill Says:

How they calculate it depends on the purpose. To determine minimum eligibility requirements they count all years – including freshman. Providing you pass that (and most that apply to Stanford would) and actually get it examined in detail by an admissions officer, then they will probably calculate some kind of weighted GPA where your later school years are weighted more. But considering the huge number of people that apply to Stanford (only about 8% get in), and the quality of applicants they attract, unless your grades are drop dead for all years you are probably out of luck buddy.

    Thanks
    Bill
