I am a freshman and I know that we add up our grades and divide it by the number of courses but which grades do I calculate? There are six marking periods in the school year(six report cards). So which one do i use to calculate my GPA?
and i want an answer by people, not my counselor.

many schools only count your semester grades (at the end of your fall classes and end of the school year) while the rest are just to let you know how you’re doing during the year. But you should ask your counselor to be sure. Sometimes they can even print you an unofficial transcript, which will show your grades. Just ask!
