I have several 4 unit quarter units from one school, and several 3 unit semester classes from 2 other schools! I need to calculate my gpa so I know I am meeting the minimum requirements to transfer to a university.
If it helps or is any different, I am going to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona here i Southern Cali….. I used to go there but dropped out a few years ago, but I still have quarter units from that school…

Ah, when will the 10% of colleges that still use the quarter system wise up and convert to semesters?
Different colleges will have different standards–for all we know, Cal Poly Pomona will consider only prior credits earned there. But the way to calculate your overall GPA for all college work is simply to take 4 points per A, 3 points per B, etc. Multiply each courses grade points by its credit hours (don’t worry about quarter or semester) and total them to get your total grade points. Then add all the credit hours you’ve earned (again, don’t worry about quarter-to-semester conversions) and divide the total credits into the total grade points. Presto, GPA.
BTW, for transfer credit, colleges generally count a quarter course as 2/3 of a semester course.
